Yoga asanas for dengue patients

The dengue menace affects a vast population each year and fails to tackle the situation. Fever is the body’s condition when the immune system weakens and becomes prone to foreign particle infection. When fever captures the human body, the general symptoms are elevated body temperature, body pain, headache, sore throat, and runny nose. However, not every fever is considered to be caused by Dengue.

So, not all fevers indicate Dengue and not every case of low platelet count results in Dengue. The symptoms of dengue fever are noticed with a decrease in platelet count and an increase in internal bleeding. They are followed by high temperature, body aches, shivering, weakness, and sometimes nausea and vomiting. In that context, yoga represents some effective processes by which Dengue can be dealt with naturally.

Dengue is a very well-known viral infection caused by a mosquito bite. For that reason, it is considered a mosquito-borne disease. The virus producing this disease is the causative agent of other illnesses, such as West Nile Infection and Yellow Fever. The bite of an Aedes mosquito can be one of the causes of Dengue, which helps spread the dengue virus in the blood.

The disease spreads from one person to another. Its onset takes 4 to 6 days after the mosquito bite, lasting for a maximum of 10 days. However, it may last longer in severe conditions, which may result in fatal disease. The patient feels a sudden fever and a headache. It also results in pain behind the eyes and severe muscle and joint pain.

The most commonly seen symptoms are fatigue, vomiting, and nausea. In addition, the essential specifications regarding the onset of Dengue are skin rash and mild gum bleeding. Sometimes, dengue results in progressive massive internal bleeding.

In that context, doctors try to eliminate many effective processes for treating dengue fever.
Other than that, there has been an ayurvedic treatment for Dengue, which eventually increases the platelet count within the body. In Ayurvedic medicine, medicinal herbs such as giloy, papaya leaves, aloe vera, and pomegranate are supposed to affect Dengue positively. They not only increase the platelet count but also increase the body’s immune system.

Other than that, the patient should stay hydrated during the onset and after the diagnosis of Dengue. Therefore, the patient must drink plain water, nutritious soups, and unsweetened juices. Moreover, building inner strength is essential, as it will help fight the foreign particles that have entered the body and caused infection.

In that context, deep breathing and some yoga positions will be helpful during dengue fever. This is because it will help lower the body temperature, and in that manner, it will also help remove the body’s discomfort. Regular yoga practice will assist in clearing the congestion, which will make the breathing process clear by improving the immune system.

Thus, some of the yoga poses that will be helpful in dengue fever are Anuloma Viloma Pranayama, Kapalbhati Pranayama, Nadi Shodhan Pranayama, Sarvangasana, and Matsyasana. All the yoga poses are formulated to channel the body and nervous system. Further, they will help stimulate the respiratory and circulatory systems.

AYM (Association of Yoga and Meditation) in Goa is one of the organizations that has been providing yoga facilities as per health requirements. It also offers exceptional care for dengue patients and helps them carry out proper yoga positions, which will help them heal from Dengue as soon as possible.
