CLAIR WADDEN
VINYASA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING IN GOA – DESCRIPTION
Primarily, yoga is a daily discipline in which one practices self-care in a quiet space. With our focus on the breath, this ancient practice moves us towards the stillness of body and clarity of mind. Similarly, developing a self-practice is not as difficult as you might imagine. In general, the practice of Vinyasa produces heat in the body to burn toxins. Accordingly, Vinyasa can purify the body and develop the personality through clarity and honesty. In this sense, not only the physical poison is addressed, but the poison of ignorance and self-deception.
VINYASA POWER YOGA
In this dynamic form of yoga, movement and breath are synchronised. Vinyasa means movement that is connected to the breath. The meditative flow of the asanas strengthens the body, increases spinal flexibility, releases tension, and directs the mind inward. We use the body as an instrument for concentration and focused thought, which leads to mental calm and greater awareness. Vinyasa Power Yoga helps us recognise limits, go beyond them, and open ourselves up to ourselves and others. We find greater balance, harmony, and well-being.

Why learn to teach Yoga?
![]()
Learning to teach Yoga is a powerful way to thoroughly understand the many facets of your practice. Teacher training is more than conducting a balanced and effective Yoga class. It is about learning to share Yoga with others in every moment of daily life. This involves practising non-harmful speech with your family, listening and not interrupting your co-workers, or simply making space to be fully present with those around you. Teaching Yoga comes in all forms. How you choose to share your Yoga journey is entirely up to you; there are limitless ways to express it!

BEYOND THE ASANA:
We will work on developing dharana (concentration) through a flowing practice. This method of Yoga has many benefits, including enabling deep concentration and allowing teachers to lead focused practice sessions. The course will also explore the concepts of prana, class energy, and the energetics of the practice.
You will cover practising and teaching ujjayi breath and bandhas for lightness in the physical body, core strength, and increased prana through the spine. You will learn to teach both beginners, with modifications to make the practice accessible to them, and intermediate students. We will work on simple phrases and expressions to use in teaching to guide your students succinctly through the practice.
