There is no need to pre-register for drop-in classes. You can show up 10-15 minutes before and attend the class.
TIPS FOR BEGINNERS
- Introduce yourself – to your teacher, let them know you are new to yoga and be ready to describe any injuries or limitations you are working with.Â
- Make yourself at home – introduce yourself to other students, ask questions, and explore our healing space!
- The general structure of the class is as follows: a brief centring and breathing practice; warm-up movements that build to the main postures of the class; a cool down; and a reclined rest (Shavasana).
- Please take care of yourself – there’s no need to push or force yourself into anything. Please allow yourself to rest during practice and never stay in a posture if it is hurting.Â
- Please communicate with your teacher! If there is any way we can make your experience more accessible and enjoyable, we want to do that!
We are committed to helping you discover a practice that best suits your unique body and have no agenda to force you to look a certain way in poses.

HATHA YOGA DROP-IN CLASS
Timings: 05:00 to 06:30 PM
Hatha Yoga is the most common and popular form of the ancient art of yoga, dating back more than 600 years. An ancient art that old must be granted the respect it deserves. Once integrated into your everyday life, Hatha Yoga will help you achieve a natural balance in your mind, body, and soul, leading to a richer, more enlightened approach to life. Many yoga enthusiasts attribute Hatha Yoga to better concentration, higher self-esteem, and healthy digestion.
Hatha derives from the ancient meaning ‘Ha’ for the sun and ‘Tha’ for the moon, insinuating that Hatha will lead to the balance between the solar system.
Astanga Yoga is an athletic yoga style considered by many to be the most advanced of the physical forms. The Astanga practice breaks down its elements to achieve a progression of understanding from Beginning to advanced levels. The whole practice requires moderate physical fitness and a willingness to work hard. Many people have experienced some form of yoga, but postural alignment details are generally lacking. To practice safely, new students, even though knowledgeable of some yoga, should start initially, minimizing the potential risk of injury.
Psychologically, Astanga Yoga develops the attributes of the warrior spirit, balancing strength with compassion and cultivation.

What is Yoga?
Yoga is traditionally defined as a union, a yoking together of mind/body/spirit. It can also be seen as uniting the individual with the one universal energy. Practising specified postures (asanas), conscious breathing, chanting and meditation allows us to discover this union.
Why Practice Yoga?
A regular yoga practice reflects a commitment to your total sense of well-being. Yoga utilizes structural and inner body alignment, balanced physical strength and flexibility, mental concentration and attentiveness, and a spiritual awareness of being.
The benefits of yoga extend far beyond the mat, becoming an integral part of your life. The peace accompanying the physical and mental challenge of aligning yourself with the postures (asanas) and the profound relaxation that stems from yoga are invaluable tools in managing moments of stress in your daily life.
DAILY EXERCISE FOR THE BODY & SOUL
When the breath wanders, the mind is also unsteady. But when the breath is calmed, the mind is still, and the yogi achieves.
WHY TAKE A YOGA CLASS?
Yoga will teach you breathing techniques that will prepare you for some other exercise. Yoga can also teach breathing to prepare you for other exercises. In yoga classes, students must often learn breathing techniques that help calm the spirit and focus the mind. With these techniques, you will be able to breathe fully, and there will be more oxygen going to your brain and throughout the other parts of the body. By practising yoga, you can do cardiovascular exercises for a more extended period since you will not be so quickly out of breath.
