CLAIR WADDEN
VINYASA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING IN GOA – DESCRIPTION
Primarily, yoga is a daily discipline that one’s self best practices in a quiet space. With our focus on the breath, this ancient practice moves us towards the stillness of body and clarity of mind. Similarly, developing a self-practice is not as difficult as you might imagine. In general, the practice of Vinyasa produces heat in the body to burn toxins. Accordingly, Vinyasa can purify the body and develop the personality through clarity and honesty. In this sense, not only the physical poison is addressed, but the poison of ignorance and self-deception.
VINYASA POWER YOGA
In this dynamic form of yoga, movement and breath are synchronized. Vinyasa means movement that is connected to the breath. The meditative flow of the asanas strengthens the body, makes the spine more flexible, releases tension and directs the mind inward. We use the body as an instrument for concentration and focusing thoughts, which leads to mental calm and more awareness. Vinyasa Power Yoga helps us recognize limits, go beyond them, and open ourselves up to ourselves and others. We find more excellent balance, harmony and well-being.

OUR PRINCIPAL PHILOSOPHIES
Principle #1: Foundation in Body and Breath
The foundation is more than just established at our roots. It is informed by the harmony between our body and breath, the integrity in our lines of energy, and their collective response to the demands of our practice.
Principle #2: Function Over Form
Each pose’s function, or intention, is prioritized over the “ideal” shape or prescribed form. This allows each individual to find their expression of the pose while honouring their unique constitution.
Principle #3: Flow – Movement as Meditation
Flow is the rhythmic, breath-led arrangement of movements that allows even the most active practice to feel meditative and gentle. Breath-led movements harmonize and tone the nervous system, invoking an inward-moving, holistic experience.
Principle #4: Felt Sense
Felt Sense interprets the body as a map of sensation, with each sensation a cue to cultivate internal body awareness and greater depth and awareness in our practice and lives.
Principle #5: Freedom of Expression
When each of the previous principles is achieved, the result is the ultimate goal of yoga: freedom, freedom to feel, freedom to express, freedom to choose, and freedom to be.

Yoga is not a sport nor a religion; it is not a competition nor an obsession – it is a way of living “yogic” that includes finding joy inside of oneself and allowing it to illuminate the world around the self to teach by example and to help others find their inner joy. The physical practice is a preparation for mental and spiritual practice. A yogi will learn what it means to have a daily practice (asana, meditation, pranayama) and how to live with a consciousness of protecting the environment and all sentient beings.
VINYASA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING IN INDIA – SYLLABUS
- Our yoga program, unlike others, delves into the theoretical and “philosophical” aspects of Yoga Sutra by Patanjali.
- Extracts from other Indian texts, such as the Samkhya Karika, the Bhagavad Gîta, the Yoga Rahasya, or the Yoga Yajnalvakya, are also included. Some notions of Ayurveda are also given.
- Our approach to studying postures is practical and adaptable. We delve into the details of each posture, enabling you to choose the most suitable ones for your situation, whether you’re weak, elderly, young, an athlete, or even pregnant.
- Study of Pranayama – these are breathing techniques. Each technique, breathing rhythms, effects and applications are studied.
- Anatomy and physiology, applied to yoga, allow us to understand better the physical and psychic action of the postures and the most common pathologies since yoga work is often a therapeutic complement.
- Practices and workshops to deepen the experience of specific techniques and to train observation skills.
- Individual classes provide personal support to each student, whether working in the field of their practice or in terms of theory.
Our course fosters a dynamic learning environment, encouraging active participation and exchange of ideas among participants. We believe in applying the study of yoga to everyday life, not just on a theoretical or academic level.

ESSENTIAL YOGA: YOGA AS A PATH TO THE ESSENTIAL
Yoga is a gift of Eastern philosophy and practice to develop a mindful attitude towards life.
In our Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in Goa, we pass on our knowledge, experiences and techniques from Vinyasa Yoga to you – so you can set out on your yoga path.
Our teacher training consists of two modules, each with 100 hours of training, which are offered alternately.
We are explicitly preparing our trainees for teaching with the ‘Teaching Yoga’ module. In addition to the philosophical and ethical foundations of yoga, we dedicate ourselves to the holistic view of the body, yoga postures and sequences, and the development of the teacher’s personality.
The following module, ‘Living Yoga’, is aimed at practising yogis who want to enter into a deeper relationship with yoga and themselves. The focus of this part of the training is on self-awareness, self-knowledge and the introduction to an independent, regular yoga practice.
